We wanted the central park of the villages. Solonitsivki Kharkiv district of Kharkiv region has become even more child-friendly. The idea is simple: add places to play where there are already old swings, so that no child is left without joy, and parents see that their children can play safely and with fun.
The park already had swings and play elements, but not everyone had enough of them. Together with the initiative group “Not Indifferent”, we listened to children and parents: what swings are missing, where you can still play, how many children come to the park at the same time. Then they bought a variety of new swings and installed them next to the existing ones, thus the park became a space where more children can play and everyone finds “their corner” to play. Partners from the municipal enterprise “Solonitsivske Housing and Operational Administration of Solonitsivska Settlement Council” helped to install the structures, the children eagerly awaited the first tests, and the Agency's team monitored safety and quality. The space was born with the community and it was palpable in every smile of the little one.
Now more than a hundred children can play in the park at the same time. New swings made it possible for everyone to find a place for fun, and the park became even brighter and more attractive. Children laugh, parents watch and rest, and the community feels that joint efforts produce results even in difficult times.
The biggest challenge is the delivery and installation of new swings to the frontline region. Logistics and a limited number of suppliers forced the team to adapt quickly. The main achievement is the community itself: parents, children and local youth have seen that they can change their environment for the better together, and this inspires new initiatives.
The park has become even more lively and friendly. Children acquire social skills, parents communicate, and grandparents can watch happy babies. Space has become a symbol of a small victory: here you can hear laughter, not anxiety.
The park in Solonitsivka has now become a place where children can play and have fun without queues and restrictions, because the new swings have significantly expanded the space for games. The implementation of the project showed how important the joint work of the community and the initiative group is: parents, local residents and the Agency team felt part of the change process and were inspired to further initiatives. The team gained invaluable experience in procurement planning, organizing installation and communicating with all project participants, and the community saw that small but spot changes really make life better. The park has become a symbol of the fact that even small additions can create great joys for children and unite people around a common concern for the future of their children.
