International Charitable Foundation “Alliance of Public Health”

Among the 14 initiatives that received support, we continue to talk about projects that help residents take care of their own safety even in the most difficult times.
The Protecting House is an initiative to equip the basement of a multi-storey building in Elite into a safe, accessible and functional shelter. The project is designed so that residents can quickly reach the storage facility and stay there in the least comfortable conditions during shelling.
In the houses of the community live families with children, the elderly, people with limited mobility. Today, most basements are dark, unsuitable for living: there is no light, ventilation, basic furniture. In times of danger, every minute counts. Without shelter available, people are forced to stay in apartments or seek other shelter, risking their lives. This project is really, unfortunately, about the basic level of security that should be available in every community home.
The project provides for the arrangement of shelters, in particular:
Each of these elements will provide safe conditions of stay, the ability to charge phones, navigate in space and warmth.
The project implements Local Initiatives Agencyon the initiative of the residents of the community, in particular multi-level buildings.
The mini-grant is implemented under the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Communities through the Support of Communities Initiatives” approach with the financial support of the international humanitarian organization HEKS/EPER (Switzerland) in coordination with Alliance for Public Health
