At the time described in the project, Russia’s full-scale invasion had damaged 1,218 healthcare facilities in Ukraine, including 540 partially destroyed hospitals and 173 completely destroyed hospitals. All seven outpatient clinics and five feldsher and midwifery stations of Primary Healthcare Centre No. 5 of Kharkiv District were affected.
How it happened
Despite occupation and ongoing hostilities, Centre staff continued to provide quality primary healthcare. AMI delivered two powerful generators to the Centre’s outpatient clinic in Tsyrkuny, helping doctors continue their work without power interruptions.
Project partners
The initiative was made possible through prompt support from the Hungarian Ecumenical Relief Service and IAC ISHR / the International Society for Human Rights. Their assistance provided a reliable power supply for a healthcare facility operating in an area affected by hostilities.
Community impact
The generators helped restore the operation of the outpatient clinic serving residents who remained in the conflict area. They maintained access to healthcare during the energy crisis caused by repeated attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
Supporting the community
AMI continues to support healthcare facilities in affected regions because access to healthcare is a fundamental right. We encourage everyone to look after themselves and their loved ones and to support efforts to restore essential community services.
