Training and development in safe classrooms of the Lyubotyn community

International Charitable Foundation “Alliance of Public Health”

Scope of implementation:
Lyubotyn territorial community, Kharkiv district, Kharkiv region

We continue to inform about the initiatives that won the competition of mini-grants in the Lyubotyn territorial community, Kharkiv district, Kharkiv region, which became home to thousands of people who fled the war.

What is this project about?

Local children and those who came from Kupiansk, Izyum and most of the surrounding villages, who survived the occupation and lost their schools, continue to study in the shelters of community educational institutions.

This is not a temporary solution for a few weeks. This is the reality of the third year of a full-scale war.

One large hall becomes at the same time a school classroom, a circle room, a space for preparing for ZNO, a shelter during anxieties.

The number of children is growing, and there is a lack of space and technical capabilities.

The community will divide the shelter into three separate rooms on its own. And the task of the project is to provide two new spaces with equipment so that every child can continue their education, despite the war.

Why is it important?

Children cannot “wait” until the shelling ends.

Education cannot stand still. When a child spends several hours in a shelter every day, and sometimes studies there constantly, it is important that this is a full-fledged education.

High-quality equipment here is not “comfort”, but a condition for preserving the future.

It allows children to:

  • see a teacher, even if he can't be physically close
  • connect to online lessons and platforms
  • receive materials, perform tasks
  • do not lose the pace of learning

What will be created

The shelters will be equipped as three full-fledged training classes with technology and the possibility of a continuous educational process even during anxieties.

What we buy and why this is important:

  • TVs 2 pcs.
  • Laptops 2 pcs.
  • HDMI cables 5 pcs.
  • BFP (printer-scanner-copier) 2 pcs.
  • Plastic doors for zoning

What changes will the project bring

  • 60-80 children will be able to study at the same time
  • each class will receive equipment for lessons
  • the cramped and forced “coexistence” in the same room will disappear
  • training will become full, not nominal

Who creates change

The project implements Local Initiatives Agencyon the initiative of a group of residents of Lyubotyn, who from the first day of the war remained in the community, organized assistance and educational support.

The Ministries are implemented within the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Communities through the Support of Communities Initiatives” approach with the financial support of the international humanitarian organization HEKS/EPER (Switzerland) in coordination with Alliance for Public Health
