📚 In Slabunivka, active residents create the space their community needs
Who said that in a small village there shouldless opportunities for development, communication and interesting leisure? The initiative group from Slabunovka decided to prove the opposite by its own actions. People united around the idea of creating a place where you can come to read, watcha movie, work together, hold a meeting or organize an event forfellow villagers.
This is how the project was born “The Space of Opportunities: Library, Cinema and Community”.
👏 I especially want to notethe most initiators. They do not wait for someone to come and solve all the questions of the classes. They see a need, discuss ideas, look for opportunities and are willing to invest their own time and effort in a common cause. It is thanks to such active people in ucommunities that initiatives appear that are relevant for everyday life.
For us at the Agency of Local Initiatives it is veryvaluable to work with people who have such motivation. We sincerely supportactive residents who seek change in their locality, are ready to take responsibility and involve others in joint work. After all, our role is to help such ideas get the necessary resource and become real changes.
📖 What are they planning to equip?
In the building of the former primary school is located on the street. Central, 35 will create a multifunctional space that will combinelibrary, cinema area and a place for joint activities.
To equip the room, you will purchasebook racks, tables, chairs, pear chairs, projection equipment, LED lighting and the necessary materials for the power grid.
Each of these things will have its ownpurpose. Shelves will help organize a book fund and make books more accessible. Tables and chairs will be useful for study, work andmeetings. Pear chairs will equip a cozy area for reading and relaxing. The project will be able to hold film screenings, theme evenings and other joint events.
👧 For children, this is an opportunity to spend time with a book, discover new things and join joint activities. For teenagers, a place where you can meet with peers and organizeleisure together. For adults, it is an opportunity to gather, discuss ideas, hold an event orstart their own initiative.
And for the initiators themselves, this is an opportunityto see how the idea on which they worked is gradually transformed into a space that their fellow villagers will use.
🤝 An important part of the work isahead. The initiative group and active residents will be involved in the repairpremises, placement of furniture and installation of equipment. The finished space will beopen for free use by residents of all ages.
It is this participation that is especially important: a person is only offered an idea, but also takes a direct part in its implementation andthe further life of the created space.
💛 We are sincerely glad to supportpeople who are willing to act for their community. Behind each such initiative there is a lot of indifference, time, effort and the belief that even in a small villageit is possible to create new opportunities. Thank you to the initiative group of Slabunivka for their activity, perseverance and willingness to work together!
