Light for the community: safe square in Solonitsivka

International Charitable Foundation “Alliance of Public Health”

Scope of implementation:
village. Solonitsivka, Solonitsivska TG, Kharkiv district, Kharkiv region

What is this project about?

The project “Light for the community: a safe square in Solonitsivka” is initiated by the group “Not indifferent” and aims to install five autonomous LED lights with solar panels in the central square of Solonitsivka village. After the war began, the community accepted a large number of internally displaced persons, and this square became an important place to socialize, relax, and support one another. However, the lack of lighting posed safety risks, especially in the evening.

Why is it important?

Lighting is not only about comfort, but also about dignity, care and safety. A well-lit space helps people feel calmer, reduces anxiety levels, promotes communication between locals and IDP families. In addition, autonomous solar-powered lights are an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solution that does not require a network connection.

What will be created?

Under this initiative, there will be:

  • 5 autonomous LED lights with solar panels are installed in the square;
  • a safe area for walking and recreation is provided;
  • created a comfortable place for meetings, integration and leisure of the inhabitants of the community.
