🕯️ “Light of Memory”: in the Central Park of Zmiev it is planned to equip the lighting of the Alley of Heroes
On the Alley of Heroes in the Central ParkZmiev there are 35 memorial signs in honor of compatriots who gave their lives forUkraine in the Russian-Ukrainian war. It is here that the relatives of the fallen defenders, their brothers and residents of the community come here to lay flowers, to be white memorial signs and to honor those who have lost.
However, in the evening, the memorial alleyremains without proper lighting. Because of the dark, it becomes more difficult to visit it, and movement along the paths is less safe.
An initiative group of veterans, war participants and active patriots of Zmiev region set out to change the situation.Within the framework of the “Light of Memory” project, it is planned to install eight meter-high forged street lights with modern energy-efficient LED-lamps on the Hero Alley.
💡 Uniform lighting will help make the memorial space more accessible in the evening, improve transportation conditions and allow visitors to calmly commemorate the memory of the fallen Defenders.
People took part in the implementation of the initiative, for whom the memory of the dead comrades and compatriots is of special importance.Members of the initiative group, volunteers and utilities will be involved in groundwork, installation and cable work on their own. The city council has agreedto carry out works in the park and will provide connection to the city power grid.
In the short term, the project shouldimprove the conditions for visiting the Alley of Heroes for more than 300 relatives and brothersdeceased warriors. In the long term, the illuminated memorial spacewill serve residents and guests of the Zmiiv community, which, according to the initiative group, is estimated at more than 15,000.

The project is implemented by the NGO “Agency of Local Initiatives” on the initiative of the residents of the community and the support of the local authorities. The Ministries are implemented within the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Communities through the “Support for Community Initiatives” approach with financial support from the international humanitarian organization HEKS/EPER (Switzerland) in coordination with the IfF “Public Health Alliance “and with the financial support of Act Alliance.
