Another of the 14 initiatives that received support is the arrangement of educational space in shelters of the support schools of Lyubotyn.
The initiative aims to equip school shelters where children can learn during air alarms. There will be modern sets of desks and chairs that will turn shelters into full-fledged study areas: comfortable, organized, suitable for lessons, circles, creative activities. Yes, this is a forced but critically needed change: today it is the shelters that often play the role of class.
Although the Lyubotyn community has been living in a frontline reality for more than three years and has still become a haven for more than 15,0000 internally displaced persons, this is a huge burden on the local infrastructure and budget, which is already limited. Every siren and every explosion causes children and adults to descend underground, where they can spend time for hours. Shelters are safe, but there is nowhere to sit, there is nothing to write for., to learn is not easy.
The project makes it possible to make learning in shelters more adaptive, comfortable and attentive to each child.
As part of the initiative, 40 modern furniture sets will be purchased:
In the long run, this will help schools work more stably and children have a greater sense of normalcy and support.
The initiative arose from within the community from the residents of Lyubotyn, who see the needs of children and teachers every day. They have never worked with grants, but they have the main thing - the desire to act
The Ministries are implemented within the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Communities through the Support of Communities Initiatives” approach with the financial support of the international humanitarian organization HEKS/EPER (Switzerland) in coordination with Alliance for Public Health
