How can you find employment?
Contact the local employment centre at your new location. It will register you and help you find work suited to your knowledge, qualifications and experience.
If you need retraining or further training to improve your professional skills, local vocational education institutions can help.
How can you receive unemployment benefits?
A simplified procedure for registering as unemployed applies to internally displaced people. Contact the local employment centre at your new location or apply through the Diia app.
How do you apply for unemployment status, its renewal and benefit payments?
- People living in safe regions can register through the Diia portal or visit the nearest employment centre that is operating.
- People in temporarily occupied areas or areas where hostilities are taking place can register through the Diia portal, an online questionnaire or a chatbot, or send signed applications to inbox@es.dcz.gov.ua.
People whose employment contracts have not been terminated must submit to the employment centre an application addressed to their employer requesting termination of the contract in order to obtain unemployment status.
Benefit payments can continue provided the unemployed person confirms their intention to retain unemployment status at least once every 30 calendar days.
How are benefits calculated if you do not have employment history or salary documents?
Benefits are based on information available in state registers, information systems and databases. Until this information is received, the minimum benefit is granted for no more than 180 calendar days. Once the information arrives, the payment amount and duration are reviewed.
