The government has supported draft laws proposing simpler loan repayment terms.
During martial law, mandatory restructuring of consumer credit agreements is proposed for people who:
- are registered as internally displaced;
- live in, or have left, areas where hostilities are taking place or have taken place, or temporarily occupied areas.
These groups would be able to use restructuring if:
- State and social financial assistance, pensions or charitable assistance are the only income sources for the borrower and their family members.
- The borrower or a family member has a war-related disability and their combined income does not exceed two minimum wages.
It is also proposed to prohibit creditors and debt collection companies from taking measures to recover overdue consumer debts during martial law and for 30 days after it ends.
